You could just tell she was doing it just for the money. She put my 7 year old son in a high chair. She wouldn't let me see where my kids had been sleeping. She was terribly rude while i was in the hospital for mental health care. I bullshited my way out of the hospital early. I later found out through my social worker. That the county revoked her foster care license. She had 10 kids in one bedroom. My kids were only in foster care 7 days that time. All my experinces with foster care were at my request. Some foster care parents are awesome. Just like someone you would meet at church. My last foster care family was the best. I still keep in contact with them.

Asking for help might be the only way to keep off the streets. Don't think of it as a hand out. But, an emergency with your husband out of work, cost of medical and not wanting to be on the street. What opions to you have? Weigh the pros and cons. And pride with practical solutions. Think short term could affect long term. And long term could affect short term. Think about it?
what kind of disabilities do both of you have? i suggest you apply for s.s.i. social security disability income. it's not a great deal of money. but, if you're really desperate that's the best place to start. it may take a while to get approved or turned down. apply again but, make sure you have 2 diganoses for each disability. if you are to follow specific treatments go to a country hospital for treatment. if you are on the bottom or near bottom of the income later you'll do it. approval for s.s.i takes some months but, you will get money back from the time you applied. i do know what i'm talking about. both my son and i have disabilities i know what i'm talking about. adhd or pain undiagonsed doesn't count. homeless shelters, food lines, and food shelves. salvation army may be able to help with food and leads to resources. each state policies are set up differently. i live in minnesota if you're a couple without kids or a specific disability they don't help as much. i more point get help filling out s.s.i papers and get documentation. good luck, call around, ask lots of questions, and pray.
does it have to be a house. i live in subsizded housing. your rent is based on your income. in minnesota there's alot of them. also, you may want to look into renting an apartment.
i lived in a house with my mother and she drove me nuts. living in an apartment is better than living with some relatives.
with apartments most places you don't have to pay for garbage pick up, heat or water.
you may want to do a pros/cons of a house, or living on your own.
in response to sliver...i cann't help with money. but, my boyfriend knows how you feel. his parents never had dental or health insurance. the dentist says he was born with week teeth and roots. all of his teeth need to come out. his doesn't want to have no teeth in his mouth since he's a truck driver. but, he cann't afford health insurance because, he has alot of money in back child support he's trying to pay off. so don't feel too bad. some people have it alot worse than you.
i cann't help with money but, have you tried a organization call accap by any chance? try to get a resource book if you can from a social service? where do you live? also, sometimes the salvation army can help. i live in minnesota and there are tons of services. hope this helps. corrine
Life hasn't always been and will never be completely easy for me. My mental illness is more stable than it used to be. 5 years ago i had one of my 2 nervous breakdowns. Long story i put my kids in foster care myself. Alot of bullshit, professional help and alot of pushing on my part my kids and i are much better off now than back than. i have a wonderful psychatrist, therapist and father of my kids has come back into my life. I pushed him away and didn't talk to him for 3 years. problem, i'm having now is he has a job but, he cann't get an apartment anywhere for all of us to live. he was evicted from his and his mom's apt. he worked nights while his mom slept. during the day he slept and his mom was awake. she was acting a bit unusual and he thought it was signs of old age. but, when she disappeared for 2 days. and didn't know who she was, how she got where the police found her. he found out she had alzheimer's disease. she handed his money for his part of the rent every month. she went into the nursing home. and he went on the streets. he stays with me a few days a week. but, that's all he dares or the kids and i will be put on the streets too. i haven't had a job in 9 years and i'm considering getting a certificate in home health aide. i need to work even though i dont know how that will work. i may get fired from a few jobs. he's going to work nights and stay at a motel a week at a time. and we are determined to find a place we can live at together. i'm willing to give up my ssi and the food stamps. but, i am scared very scared! i know my kids dad loves me and the kids. but, i'm scared to get a job and not have a nervous breakdown. if anyone has mental illness especially please comment back. even if you don't have mental illness please comment back if you have any suggestions. i'll take words of encouragement too. please, don't ask if you can help with money. i've gotten enough from the goverment. i'm want to fend for myself. corrinedj of blaine, mn
i too have bad teeth. i've gone to the college of denistry in my area. and they charge a sliding fee. to fix teeth. the process will be slow. remember it's worth it. you're worth it. you also, may try to get a free lawyer. and sue your ex for damages to your teeth. still hold your head up high it's not your fault it's HIS FAULT. i'm so glad your out of the relationship and he's behind bars. that's worth it's weight in gold. go to therapy even if it's going to a neighborhood walk in clinic. they may be able to tell you more ideas than me. you're still very pretty. and don't you ever forget it. even if you don't believe it tell yourself over and over again. i will right back. i'm just getting really tired. i take meds to control my bi polor. my meds are telling me to go to sleep. take care and good luck. corrine of minnesota
i would apply for every welfare assistance you can get. go to school part time. at a community college. see if you can get a social worker. not a financial worker through the welfare system. a social worker can help you find immediate programs to help you. i got a free car not a great car through a program called free to be. i live in minnesota there are alot of programs to help single mom's. there's very little assistance for childcare anymore. network with family and friends for daycare. see if you can get into a subsidized living. it's different complexes that base your rent on how much you make. hope this helps. i like to pass on imformation i know. corrinedj
hi i didn't make this candle this is what i'm trying to sell on ebay. i need extra cash because, i'm trapped into poverty. if my boyfriend and i get married i'm kicked off of my income. i and my son receive s.s.i. because, we both have disabilities. i have 2 other kids too. one thank god is 18 has a job and in her last year of high school. my boyfriend and i have been seperated more than we have been together. at least that's what i think. he's a over the road truck driver. yes he makes good money. but, between curent child support, back child support, health insurance for my 2 boys, medical assistance, and his other bills. we just cann't get married. it's cheaper for him to be on the road. and for our kids and i to live some place else. i'm hoping that me selling candles and other items on ebay. that i'll be able to start my own business. alot of people have laughed at me about my idea. but, i don't care. i'm been doing alot of research. does any one know of any grants or programs that might help me. corrinedj
